Kitojo Integrated Development Association (KIDA) is a grassroots organization that is empowering Ugandans to prevent the spread of HIV, reclaim their lives from the disease and live a better life.
Reverend Ezra Musobozi, an ordained Anglican priest, and his wife Marjorie, both native Ugandans, founded KIDA in 1999 and currently direct the operations of its programs with a small staff and several volunteers. KIDA is a registered nonprofit, non-governmental organization (NGO) certified in 2001 by the Republic of Uganda.
KIDA’s Vision is:
“Empowered people taking care of their own lives.”
KIDA’s Mission is:
“To enable vulnerable individuals and communities to improve their quality of life through counseling, education, care and support of the HIV/AIDS infected and affected and promoting productive self help initiatives.”
KIDA is located in Kitojo, a rural community with limited access to healthcare services. Our reach, however, extends into many other communities.
Some of the challenges our clients and our communities face are HIV/AIDS, poor health and nutrition, poverty, an inadequate food supply, illiteracy and the inability to receive a quality education. But, unlike other organizations, we believe in an integrated and holistic approach to addressing the challenges of the communities we serve. Our programs emphasize personal responsibility and include:
